Roman Period, c.3rd - 4th Century AD. A large terracotta anthropoid head from the lid section of a sarcophagus. The facial features are sculpted in an abstract fashion, with an angular brow ridge and nose. Some brownish pigmentation highlights the face and the two long braids of hair painted below the ears as well as a lower border. Ptolemaic Period, 3rd - 1st Century BC. A beautiful pair hollow filigreed beads?it is from24 karat gold. The hole is 10mm wide, but there is not way to hang them from the ear, they are too small to be rings and too small to be hair ties. The filigree work is highlighted by soldered pellets around the equators and around the rims on each side. Each is 25mm in diameter and are marvelous examples of Hellenistic goldsmithing. Said to from El Fayoum, just south of Cairo.

Roman Period, 1 st Century BC – 4 th Century AD. A mixed strand of various glass and stone beads, some possibly older than the Roman period. Nice gold colored glass beads and blue and white striped glass beads are some of the highlights. Stone beads in carnelian and even a couple lapis lazuli examples. A fun strand for the bead collector. Strand measures 17” and strung to be worn. From the Fayoum region, south of Cairo.
