Ancient Egyptian Faience is a porcelain-like glazes material used for jewelry amulets and the like called Tehenet in the hieroglyphs.Faience was associated with the Sun and it’s brilliant rays on or Summers clay. Each of the colors used had a special, magical significance. Red symbolized the Sun and power; Blue-and Green strength and rebirth; and yellow the power of the Gods. XXVI Dynasty 665-527 B.C. 12 inches long.
