A thick walled, terracotta head section from the upper lid portion of a sarcophagus with relief sculpted facial features and a goatee. Some areas of painted white pigment with black details. Large chip to lower rim and fragmented goatee reattached with some losses, loss to lower right side, stable hairline at center of interior. Old metal mount.
Period: Roman Period, ca. 3rd-4th century A.D.
Size: 15"H. x 14"W.
